The Armenian Youth Fund and the Ministry of Education and Science
announced on June 27 the results of an open competition for grants
    to organizations implementing educational projects.

The press-service of the Youth Fund said a total of 26 applications
had been received and eight were recognized winners. The selected
organizations will receive grants up to 500 drams (about $1340)
for implementing various projects in pre-school, senior secondary
and advanced education and science areas.

According to Karen Avakian, the chairman of the Board of Trustees of
the Youth Fund, no application for participation in the competition
for projects in the field of higher education were received, and the
money earmarked for the winner in this category will go to support
    young scientists.

Most of the projects will be implemented in the regions of Armenia,
Nagorno-Karabakh and Javakheti. The latter is a region in southern
Georgia with a predominant ethnic Armenian population.
