Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Bahar Muradova emphasized a need to
increase the salaries of militaries, especially those servicing on
the front area.
It would be advisable to reconsider this issue while discussing the
2012-state budget, she said in her media statement.
'I support proposals voiced by several MPs in this regard. I think
that this issue should be taken into account,' Mrs.Muradova said.
She also touched proposals on opening Azerbaijan's culture centers
abroad put forward during the state budget discussions at the
parliamentary committees' meetings.
Voicing her support to her counterparts' proposals, Mrs.MUradova named
this as a positive momentum. However, she said it would be wrong to
finance these centers' activity through the state.
"I also believe that there is a need to open Azerbaijan's culture
centers abroad and this is advisable issue. But, I think that their
financing can be ensured through conduct of different projects. Then,
we can empower their financing and management to compatriots living
and operating in foreign countries," Mrs.Muradova said.
She regards the state financing of the 'Azerbaijani Community of
Nagorno-Karabakh' Public Union as acceptable.
So far, Azerbaijan has a practice of the state financing of several
NGOs, she added.
"It is true that sometimes we criticize this Public Union's activities,
but personally I think that this organization is of crucial importance
for us. Theretofore, it is necessary to finance this organization by
the state with a view to ensure its more effective activity," she said.
