SERZH SARGSYAN RECEIVES THE DIRECTOR OF THE MARYINSKY THEATER

President Serzh Sargsyan received the Director of the Maryinsky
Theater in St. Petersburg Valery Gergiev September 19, press office
of the president reported.
Serzh Sargsyan noted that in Armenia people love and wait for Valery
Gergiev and think him to be the friend of the Armenian nation. "You
have conducted the Armenian Symphonic Orchestra for five years. It
means that you have dedicated the five years of your life to our
music, our culture. We are happy that you are in Armenia during the
festive days dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Independence
of Armenian Republic," president said.
The famous conductor pointed out that Armenia has always played a
very important role in his life and he is very happy that he can
become a part of that wonderful fest. Valery Gergiev mentioned that
he remembers the years passed in Armenia with pleasure and is always
happy to visit Armenia.
