The most serious problem for Armenia is the problem of migration of
its population from the country. As a result, Armenia is facing a
serious demographic problem, and it has become a threat to the
country's national security. According to official data, the Armenian
population is over 3 million people. However, there live less than 3
million people in the country. Up to 300, 000 people have left the
country during the last 10 years. According to unofficial data, since
regaining its independence, around 1 million people have abandoned
Armenia. Most number of migrants, around 65% moves to Russia from
Armenia, around 10% migrate to the USA and 10% to Europe.
