    URANIUM SMUGGLING CASE IN COURT

The case of the deal of highly enriched uranium in Georgia has been
    sent to court.

According to the indictment of Hrant Ohanyan, 62, Yerevan, in early
March 2010 he was offered by his acquaintance Sumbat Tonoyan to
deliver highly enriched uranium to Georgia, receiving it from Garik
Dadayan and supplying it to the clients in Georgia.

On 10 March 2010 he met Garik Dadayan who had just arrived from Moscow
and received 17 grams of highly enriched uranium to share the gains
after the deal. On 11 March 2010 Hrant Ohanyan and Sumbat Tonoyan
smuggled uranium to Georgia's capital Tbilisi but were caught by the
    law enforcement agencies of Georgia.

The case was investigated by the RA National Security Service.

This is not an ordinary case because the commitments of Armenia
relating to trafficking in nuclear substances in the Atomic Security
Summit apply to it. Sumbat Tonoyan and Hrant Ohanyan were also
convicted in Georgia and sentenced to 14 and 13 years imprisonment
    respectively.
