"EU's job is not to judge history. EU's job is to maintain peace,"
EU Commissioner for Enlargement and ENP Stefan Fule said in response
to the question whether the EU recognizes the Armenian Genocide.

Fule said EU was a project aimed at peace, democracy, stability and
prosperity in the continent.

He said EU encourages Turkey and Armenia to remain committed to
normalization process, recalling that the Union called on the
two countries to ratify protocols in a reasonable time frame and
implement them.

Fule added that full normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations
would contribute to security, stability and cooperation in the South
Caucasus. He said vision, courage and dialogue was needed to overcome
past pains.
