YEREVAN, APRIL 30, ARMENPRESS: "A Night in the Courtyard" features
Armenian-Syrian violinist Tamara Khachatryan, a classically trained
concert violinist and music educator, reports Atmenpress referring
to Arizona Daily Star.

When conflict escalated in Syria, Khachatryan escaped to Lebanon and
eventually the United States, where she is requesting asylum with her
husband, Fadi Iskandar, and their young daughter. The family arrived
in Arizona six months ago and hopes to make Tucson its permanent home.

Khachatryan will perform classical and popular musical selections in
several genres, including Irish folk songs and modern jazz. Her husband
will accompany her in several selections. The event is sponsored by
Iskashitaa Refugee Network and the YWCA Tucson.
