TURKEY CONCERNED OVER ERECTION OF MONUMENT TO ANDRANIK OZANYAN IN RUSSIA

The information on erection of a monument dedicated to Armenian
national hero, prominent military leader Arndranik Ozanyan in
Lazarevsky district of Sochi draw wide response in Turkish mass media.

Turkey is concerned that friendly Russia will put up a monument to
the Armenian general.

Almost all Turkish media outlets referred to the issue, recalling that
the Armenian commander killed thousands Turks during the World War I.

As NEWS.am reported previously, a monument dedicated to Armenian
national hero Andranik Ozanyan will be set up in Sochi. The monument
will be erected on the initiative of representatives of local
Armenian community, descendents of Armenians survived during the
Armenian Genocide under Ottoman Empire. Sculptor of the monument is
Marat Minasyan.
