ARMENIA POSSESSES THREE-LEVEL SECURITY SYSTEM - CSTO SECRETARY GENERAL

    Interfax, Russia
    June 27 2013

Armenia enjoys a high level of security, Collective Security Treaty
Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said.

"Creation of Armenia's national security system, intensive cooperation
between Russia and Armenia and arms supplies as a form of assistance
confirm the high level of its security," he told a press conference
    in Yerevan on Thursday.

"The three-level structure - the national forces, Russian-Armenian
cooperation and CSTO cooperation - attest to the high degree of
    Armenian security," he said.

Bordyuzha also said a military solution was not possible in the
    Karabakh conflict.

"This complex and protracted conflict can be resolved exclusively
with peace talks. There is no other option. It is easy to start a war,
but it is hard to go back to a peaceful footing. Some politicians seem
to have forgotten the sad experience. They should remember the 1990s,
to cool off," the CSTO secretary general said.

Bordyuzha called the attempts to distort the Karabakh settlement
format within the OSCE Minsk Group counter-productive.

"I am against anyone's interference and addition of new elements. The
OSCE Minsk Group is in charge of settlement issues," he said.

In turn, Armenian National Security Council Secretary Artur Bagdasarian
said the Armenian Armed Forces had sufficient strength and hardware
for preventing the aggression of Azerbaijan.

"Our Armed Forces are being supplied with new types of armaments,
which exceed Azeri hardware in their quality," Bagdasarian said.
