USA AND GERMANY TO RECOGNIZE KOSOVO INDEPENDENCE
USA and Germany have agreed to recognize Serbian
province Kosovo independence and to urge the rest of
Europe to follow suit, the New York Times reports.
According to the newspaper, a diplomat close to
negotiations over Kosovo's future informed about it.
US President George Bush and German Chancellor Angela
Merkel agreed it was vital to recognize Kosovo to
stabilize the western Balkans, according to the
diplomat.
