Today the President of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia
Garegin Azaryan received the Head of the Observation Mission of the
OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR),
    Ambassador Geert-Hinrich Ahrens.

During the meeting the Ambassador concisely presented the work already
done by their mission. He noted that he is preparing to personally
    attend a number of precincts.

According to the Ambassador, the mission is currently working on an
interim report that will be issued on January 30.

The CEC President gave clarifications on a number of questions raised
by Mr. Ahrens. In particular, issues related to the training of members
of electoral commissions were discussed. Mr. Azaryan noted that a
training film has been shot with the support of the OSCE Office in
Yerevan, which will enable to make the organization and conduct of
    the elections more effective.

Speaking of the importance for the voters to be familiar with voting
procedures, Garegin Azaryan informed that the video clip explaining
the voting procedure has already been shot with the support of the
Council of Europe and will be aired on a number of TV channels.

Ambassador Ahrens attached importance to the periodic meetings with the
Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission and expressed gratitude
    for the opportunity provided.

To remind, 40 long-term and 260 short-term observers will carry out an
observation mission during the presidential elections of February 19.
