THE CATHOLICOSATE OF CILICIA PARTICIPATES IN
    THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
    COEXISTENCE AND PEACE MAKING

Senior Muslim and Christian religious leaders attended the third
international conference sponsored by the Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence
Research Center (JICRC) on January 22-23. The conference on Coexistence and
Peace Making convened under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II at
the Le Meridien Hotel in Amman, Jordan.

Catholicos Aram I was invited to personally attend the conference. Given his
busy schedule, the Pontiff delegated Archbishop Sebouh Sarkisian (Primate of
the Diocese of Tehran) to participate in the conference on his behalf.
Church heads, presidents of Islamic centers, religious leaders and experts
on Christian-Muslim dialogue participated in the conference.

Archbishop Sebouh conveyed Catholicos Aram I's greetings to the conference
and stressed the importance of holding such meetings, commending its
organizers for their efforts. He highlighted the importance of a culture of
dialogue and coexistence, which would allow educating the new generations
with regard to the challenges of the current world.
