SERZH SARKISIAN CONTINUES TO RECEIVE CONGRATULATIONS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, ARMENPRESS: Armenian prime minister Serzh
Sarkisian continued on Friday to receive congratulations from foreign
leaders on his election as president.
Sarkisian already received congratulations form presidents of Russia,
France and Georgia. He was also congratulated on Thursday by Turkish
president Abdullah Gul.
The Armenian government also received messages from Javier Solana,
the European Union's foreign and security policy chief, and Jaap de
Hoop Scheffer, NATO's secretary general.
The government press office said a message of congratulation has
arrived today from Bulgaria's president Georgy Pyrvanov, who expressed
hope that the traditional friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation
between Armenia and Bulgaria will continue.
Pyrvanov also invited Serzh Sarkisian to pay a visit to Bulgaria.
A congratulatory message has also come from Hirair Hovnanian,
chairman of board of trustees of the Armenian Assembly of America
(AAA), who congratulated Sarkisian on behalf of the board of trustees,
the staff and ordinary AAA members.
Hovnanian said in his message that Sarkisian has accumulated
'exceptional' experience in the last 20 years, adding also he is sure
that he will use it for building a safe country for all Armenians,
a country that every Armenian will be proud of.
