ArmInfo. The DPA leader Aram Sarkisyan thinks the present situation in
the country is a "waiting" one, he expressed such a view over today's
press-conference in Pastarq club dedicated to domestic political
situation in Armenia after the 1 March events in Yerevan.

He also added everybody should understand what happened to them
and the country and what will change. There are several questions
which need answers and the most important among them is how the new
authorities are going to come out from the created hard situation, the
politician said. He also added that investigation os the 1 March events
is developing slowly. He said it is unacceptable that people were
arrested only because of their political views. According to Sarkisyan,
the next important question is if the newly elected president Serzh
Sarkisyan will be independent from the present authorities in the
person of President Robert Kocharyan. The third question is what stuff
policy the ruling coalition will conduct and will it depend on today's
authorities in this matter. 'The people are waiting for real steps.

They want to understand if the new authorities are going to change
their policy regarding the complaints presented by the people',
    - he said and added that if there are no changes, it will cause
new protests. He also said the point is not in the activity of
politicians - the people apply to the authorities with their legal
demands. 'Stability in the country is very much important but not via
the repressive machinery. Stability is true when the people believe
and trust in the authorities', - Sarkisyan said.
