CATHOLICOS ARAM I AND PATRIARCH PAULOS ADDRESS
THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CONVENING IN ANTELIAS

The international conference convening in the Antelias headquarters of the
Catholicosate of Cilicia interrupted its activities temporarily to receive
His Holiness Aram I and the Head of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, His
    Holiness Patriarch Paulos.

Patriarch Paulos, who is one of the Presidents of the World Council of
Churches, also addressed the conference. He had come for one day to Antelias
to visit His Holiness Aram I to express his gratitude to the Armenian
Pontiff for his key role in the reconciliation between the Coptic and
    Ethiopian Churches.

His Holiness Aram I welcomed Patriarch Paulos. Emphasizing the importance of
the conference, the Catholicos underlined the negative impact of mass
    migration on society.

Making the voices of the agonized African people heard, Patriarch Paulos
stressed the important role of religion for an adequate life standard for
the society. He also talked about those factors, economic stabilization,
justice and peace, the combination of which could lead to a halt of the
    undesired phenomenon of migration.
