HENCE "HERITAGE" TO PARTICIPATE IN ELECTIONS OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENTAL BODIES

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS: The replacement of the head of the
parliamentary faction of the "Heritage" party is connected with the
very busy schedule of Raffi Hovhanesian, the newly elected head of
the faction Armen Martirosian said today at a press conference. "This
change does not mean isolation of R. Hovhanesian from the work of the
party. He was and remains the leader of the party," A. Martirosian
said.
Referring to the elections of local self-governmental bodies in
Yerevan Arabkir district where Zoya Tadevosian, from Heritage party
was a candidate, A. Martirosian said that "In any case we managed to
ensure an alternative for the voters, and we do not regret that we
have participated in the elections. We underscore elections of local
self-governmental bodies and hence will continue our participation
in them," the head of the oppositional faction said.
Speaking about the coming meeting of the opposition, the
representative of the Heritage said that the party will also
participate in it. According to him, such meetings are necessary to
keep the authorities alert. "If the meetings did not take place,
Tigran Sargsyan would not have been appointed prime minister and
reforms would not take place," A. Martirosian said.
