ARONIAN DEFEATED BY KARLSEN IN THE SIXTH ROUND OF "GRAND SLAM"

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS: Armenian grand master Levon Aronian
was defeated by Norwegian Magnus Karlsen in the sixth round of the
"Grand Slam" chess tournament held in Spanish town of Bilbao.
In other games of the round Vesselin Topalov from Bulgaria played draw
with Teymur Rajabov from Azerbaijan, Vassili Ivanchuk from Ukraine
played draw with Vishvanatan Anand from India.
After this round the leader of the tournament is M. Karlsen with 11
points, second comes V. Topalov with 10 points, followed by L. Aronian
with 6 points. The 4-6 places are shared by V. Anand, V. Ivanchuk,
T. Rajabov - each having 5 points.
