COMSTAR UNITED TELESYSTEMS LAUNCHES WIRELESS WIDEBAND INTERNET IN ARMENIA

ArmInfo. OJSC "Comstar - United TeleSystems" and its branch in Armenia
"Cornet- AM" are launching wireless wideband internet communication
of WiMAX standard in Armenia, Comstar's PR department told ArmInfo.
To recall, Comstar-UTS and Cornet-AM have already launched 802.16e
standard WiMAX commercial network in the frequency range of 3,6- 3,8
GHz. The network consists of 24 baser stations connected with own and
rented lines of optical and radiorelay communication, and covers 18
towns of the republic. In the future the network will be expanded to
40 stations. Investment in the project in 2007-2008 was 4.6 mln USD.
