CASSATION COURT OVERTURNS DECISION OF SHIRAK GENERAL JURISDICTION COURT ON "GALA" TV COMPANY

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. At the October 31 sitting, the
RA Cassation Court decided to overturn a decision of the general
jurisdiction court of Shirak marz (province), by which the Shirak
court had sustained the lawsuit of Gyumri mayor's office against CHAP
LLC, the founder of Gala television company (Gyumri), concerning the
dismantling of Gala's broadcasting aerial from the old television
tower belonging to the mayor's office. Lawyer Karen Tumanian,
a representative of CHAP LLC, had earlier appealed against this
decision of the Shirak gerenal jurisdiction court to the Court of
Appeal that had left the decision unchanged.
