ArmInfo. Civil society net 'Refugees and International Law> has come
forward with a sharp statement on the report 'Armenia. Analysis of
shortcomings in the process of protection of refugees and persons
    applied for shelter'

'Civil society net 'Refugees and International law' is forced to react
once again at willful disinformation disseminated by international
organizations and state structures of Armenia regarding the problem
of Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan. This time the disinformation
was disseminated by the joint efforts of representative of UN
Commissioner in Refugees in Armenia and Armenian Migration Agency
financed ny European Union. The Document containing absolutely willful
    disinformation is called 'Armenia.

Analysis of shortcomings in the process of protection of refugees and
persons applied for shelter' (August, 2008). The document was delivered
to the participants in the seminar held in Yerevan on 6-7 November. The
document is trying to present removal of Azerbaijani Armenians from
Azerbaijani Soviet Republic in 1988-92 as willing emigration because
meddling of Armenia in the Karabakh conflict....But Armenian did not
emigrate as the document says, but were expelled... Foreword of the
document says: 'From 1988 to 1992 the country (Armenia) was involved
in the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict, as a result of which about 400.000
refugees moved to Armenia from Azerbaijan. Later their great majority
moved to other countries or became Armenian citizens - naturalized'. At
the beginning of the document presenting the information in such a way
its authors are trying to persuade the reader that in fact in Armenia
there is no problem of Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan....Everything
is done for the factor of Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan, which
amount to 8-10% of the population living in Armenia, to lose its
political, economical, social and humanitarian significance. The fact
that foreigners are the authors of such policy may be explained by the
fact that they are guided by the interests of their state. But how can
be explained such a policy conducted by Armenian functionaries? Civil
Society Net 'Refugees and International Law' applies once again to
vice-premier, Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorkyan
with a challenge to stop dissemination of disinformation about the
problem of Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan by means of the state
structures controlled by him', - the statement says.
