DRAFT LAW ON AMENDMENT TO ARTICLES 225 AND 300 OF ARMENIA'S CRIMINAL CODE TO BE PRESENTED ON FEBRUARY 19

The working group established to draft a law on amending Articles 225
and 300 of the Criminal Code of Armenia held its first sitting today
chaired by David Harutyunyan, the Chairman of the National Assembly's
Standing Committee on state-Legal Issues.
Head of the working group David Harutyunyan informed the members of
the group the changes in corresponding articles of the Criminal Code
pursue two objectives: reflection of the distinctness of the legal
principle in the above mentioned articles and their compliance with
European standards.
Mr. Harutyunyan denoted the shortcomings existing in the articles. He
informed that the draft is expected to be presented on February 19.
Therefore, he suggested to define the proposals and present them to
the consideration of the working group as soon as possible.
Members of the working group David Harutyunyan, Artsvik Minasyan and
Hrayr Tovmasyan presented their approaches on the amendments to the
corresponding articles.
