The National Assembly of the Nagornyy Karabakh Republic [NKR] adopted
the state budget for 2005 on 27 December.

The revenues of the NKR state budget totalled 9.24bn drams - about 19m
dollars. The expenses totalled 24.18bn drams or more than 49m dollars
and the deficit is 14.94bn drams or about 30m dollars. In comparison
with the last year, the budget expenses of 2005 have increased
considerably and are double the 2002 figure.

The deficit of the NKR state budget will be covered by a credit from
Armenia that will total 13.64bn drams or more than 27m dollars. The
increase in the gross domestic product in 2005 will total 11.5 per
cent or 48bn drams [98.7m dollars].

Now almost 30 per cent of the republic's GDP are manufactured by small
and medium-sized businesses, NKR Finance Minister Spartak Tevosyan
