YEREVAN, MARCH 2, NOYAN TAPAN. "Many of you pin much hopes on this
rally and expect 24-hour rallies, revolt, attack on the presidential
residence," first RA President, Armenian National Congress (ANC)
leader Levon Ter-Petrosian said at the March 1 rally addressing to
those gathered. "Right away I consider it necessary to declare that the
ANC lexicon did not contain and henceforth will not contain the notions
"attack" and "revolt." According to him, the shabby idea of revolution
should be finally forced out of Armenian citizens' lexicon. According
to L. Ter-Petrosian, as far as it is this way, one dictatorship will
replace another one. "Resolution is not a one-time outburst, but an
ability of a long-lasting fight," he stated mentioning that in general
it is not standing up but staying in that position is important.

According to L. Ter-Petrosian, the idea of holding 24-hour rallies is
not acceptable for ANC, but it is not proper time for it now. According
to him, until society's other parts, many people realize the danger of
taking a bribe, until the business world is inclined to the opposition,
the power shift moment cannot be considered matured. According to
    L. Ter-Petrosian, the authorities soon will have no arguments to
    speak with the people.

According to his prediction, it is not excluded that the authorities
will resign and ANC will be made a new proposal to establish a new
government of national consent. In that case, as the opposition
leader assured, the people will decide what ANC should do, if the
people says no, that proposal will be declined.

A march took place after the rally with the participation of thousands
of people. They walked by Mashtots Avenue, Grigor Lusavorich street,
Republic Square, Nalbandian street and reached Northern Avenue,
where political walks are organized every evening.

The next rally will take place on May 1.
