Ruling party rep denies reports on premier's possible dismissal

Yerevan, 13 March: The secretary of the [ruling] Republican Party of
Armenia [RPA], Eduard Sharmazanov, said today in Yerevan that Armenian
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan enjoys the confidence of the ruling
    coalition.

Commenting on media reports about the forthcoming dismissal of the
prime minister and the government, Sharmazanov has said the RPA is
sure that Tigran Sargsyan and his cabinet are able to solve tasks that
face the country, the Mediamax news agency reported.

The spokesman said that the prime minister's dismissal was not on the
RPA's agenda. He described the rumours about the dismissal of the
prime minister as "a cheap trick of some political forces".

Sharmazanov said that it had been said at a recent session of the
RPA's council said that the government's and prime minister's steps
aimed at overcoming consequences of the global crisis were "fully
    justified".
