The General Court of Kentron and Nork Marash communities today returned
the verdict on Gagik Jhangiryan, former Deputy Prosecutor General. The
court found Gagik Jhangiryan guilty according to Article 316.1 and
sentenced him to three years of imprisonment.

Before the verdict would be announced, Gagik Jhangiryan urged those
present to react to the decision without strong emotions. After
the verdict was announced, attorney Lusine Sahakyan said it was
    not unexpected.

"The verdict could, certainly, be expected. We did not expect justice
from the court from the very beginning. We will immediately apply to
the Court of Appeal, not because we anticipate justice there, but
because it's necessary to exhaust the instances within the country
in order to apply to the European Court," Lusine Sahakyan said.
