    Growth rate of proceeds from realization of number of largest Armenian
    enterprises decreases by 4.9% in January 2009 - analysis

    YEREVAN, March 23. /ARKA/. According to `Analysis of generalized
    indicators of monitoring of large taxpayers in January 2009', placed
    on the official website of the RA State Revenue Committee, the growth
    rate of proceeds from realization of a number of largest Armenian
    enterprises decreased by 4.9% this January against January 2008.
    The total turnover of three mining companies only (`Pure Iron
    Company', `Armenian Molybdenum Production', `Zangezour
    Copper-Molybdenum Plant') decreased by 5bln AMD or 35.9%.
    At the same time, according to the analysis of the State Revenue
    Committee, the opposite picture is observed in the banking system.
    Namely, during the period under review four banks of Armenia (`VTB
    Bank Armenia', ACBA Credit Agricole Bank', `Unibank' and
    `Ardshininvestbank') recorded growth of proceeds by 6bln AMD or 43.4%.
    RA State Revenue Committee by the Armenian Government developed and
    analysed `Generalized indicators of monitoring of large taxpayers in
    January 2009' under `Tax management strategy of the Republic of
    Armenia for 2008-2011' program and for ensuring transparent, single
    tax conditions for large businesses for improving tax and customs
    management.
    The monitoring was carried out among 235 largest taxpayers of Armenia
