ARMENIAN-TUNISIAN BUSINESS-FORUM IN YEREVAN IN JUNE

    /ARKA/
    April 29, 2009
    YEREVAN

Armenian-Tunisian business-forum may be held in Yerevan in June,
said President of Foundation for Support of International Economic
    and Humanitarian Programs Metso Igityan.

"Foundation for Support of International Economic and Humanitarian
Programs with participation of Ministry of Tourism of Tunis and
a number of other Tunisian ministries organize conduction of an
"Armenia-Tunis" conference on investment, trade, tourism and other
opportunities for cooperation in Yerevan approximately in June,"
    Igityan told ARKA News Agency.

He stated the Foundation's primary goal is to contribute to cooperation
between Armenia and Tunis, specifically by establishing a direct
    air-connection between the two countries.

According to Igityan agreement on opening a direct air-connection
between Armenia and Tunis was reached with Armenian national air
carrier Armavia. He said they already have confirmation of Tunis's
interest in opening a direct air-connection in the near future.

Igityan noted the sides only need to formalize their intentions and
sign a Protocol on direct avia connection.

He stressed this is the most urgent plan for the future. The program
will facilitate the visa system between Armenia and Tunis and its full
cancelation in the near future which will contribute to activation of
tourism and economic bilateral cooperation. He noted Tunis=2 0still
has a visa system only with Armenia from post-soviet countries.

Igityan said Tunis is a rather attractive country from the point
of view of tourism with corresponding modern infrastructure, namely
beaches and hotels, famous thalassotherapy centers, golf fields, etc.

He stressed Tunis is the most European country among Arabic
countries. Most of the population is fluent in French that is why
the French prefer to spend their holiday in Tunis instead of Turkey
    or Egypt.

Besides Tunis is a very tranquil country. It is on one of the last
places on the list of most felonious countries of the world.

"The Tunisian side is interested in Armenian tourists, Armenian
business and investments. Armenia, in its turn, will be able to import
high-quality and cheap local products, namely dates, oranges, lemons,
olives, as well as Tunisisan wine," said Igityan. -0--
