    TRIPLE HOLIDAY CELEBRATED

    May 9 is a triple holiday: people of Artsakh celebrated Liberation
    of Shoushi, the NKR Defence Army and the Victory Day. With the aim
    of participating in the ceremonies the RA President Serj Sargsyan,
    accompanied by a delegation from Armenia, had arrived in Artsakh. The
    memorial complex of Stepanakert was the starting point of the main
    arrangements. Here the NKR and the RA authorities, state officials
    of the two Republics, guests and numerous citizens put flowers and
    wreaths to the memorial, visited the cemetery of the soldiers, perished
    at the Artsakh war. Then the column of the government officials
    started to Shoushi. On the way they stopped at the tank-monument,
    and in the liberated town a tribute of respect was paid to the memory
    of Commander Vazgen Sargsyan, flowers and wreaths were put to his
    monument as well. A high Mass was offered in St. Ghazanchetsots Church.

    In connection with the Triple Holiday the NKR President signed decrees
    on decorations. Particularly, Arkadi Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos) was
    conferred the rank of "Artsakh Hero". The NKR Prime Minister Ara
    Haroutyunyan was decorated with the "Military Cross" medal of the
    second degree. A part of state awards were delivered to the owners
    at the Officer's House in Stepanakert where the NKR Defence Minister
    Movses Hakobyan made a report on May events.

    The festive day was completed with the concert and fireworks which
    took place on the Rebirth square.
