YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. Armenian Premier discussed issues on
improvement of women's status in the country at the meeting of the

    service reported.

At the meeting, Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Filaret
Berikyan reported on measures implemented in 2008 in the scope of
the national program for improvement of women's status in the society
    for 2004-2010.

The aim of the 2008 measures was improvement of the laws on gender

status in the society for 2004-2010.

The Council made a decision to amend their charter and set control
functions there. The draft amendments are to be submitted at the next
    meeting for approval.

The Women's Council decided to set up, in cooperation with public
organizations and government agencies, three target groups - for
education, science and culture, for social issues and for healthcare.

Nominations for the group members are to be discussed at the next
    meeting of the Council.
