NO BREAKTHROUGH EXPECTED AFTER SARGSYAN-ALIEV MEETING IN ST. PETERSBURG

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Prague meeting between Armenian and Azeri
Presidents did not result in breakthrough in Karabakh settlement
talks but was marked by several factors, Vahan Dilanyan Political
Developments Research Centre, told a press-conference in Yerevan. "We
saw Armenia's positions strengthened in Karabvakh settlement
talks. But the process is accompanied by Azerbaijan's violation
of ceasefire regime and Baku's statements on Armenia's destructive
positions in the talks," Mr. Dilanyan stressed, noting that parties
focus on NKR participation in settelment process, although this is
done indirectly. "OSCE MG Co-Chairs' frequent visits to Stepanakert
testify to the fact that NKR as democratic state can never form part
of authoriatarian Azerbaijan," the expert said. Mr. Dilanyan also
noted that after the meeting in Prague OSCE MG Co-Chairs reiterated
that Armenian-Turkish ties normalization and Karabakh settlement
    talks are separate processes.

"Neither will there be a breakthrouh in upcoming Sargsyan-Aliev
meeting scheduled for early-June," Vahan Dilanyan stressed.
