HIS HOLINESS ARAM I RECEIVES JASON T. KENNEY
Queen's Privy Council for Canada (QPC), Member of Parliament current
    Minister of Citizenship,
    Immigration and Multiculturalism of Canada

On Friday 15 May 2009 in the evening, immediately after his arrival in
Beirut, His Excellency Jason T. Kenney visited His Holiness Aram I. The
Director of the Minister's office and the Ambassador of Canada to Lebanon
accompanied the guest. The meeting lasted over an hour and conversations
focused on the situation in Lebanon, particularly that of the Armenian
community and Christian-Muslim relations in the Middle East. The Catholicos
and the visitors also discussed the state of affairs of Armenians in Canada.
After clarifying certain aspects of the issues under discussion, His
Holiness Aram I spoke of the Armenian Genocide and its recognition.

At the end of the visit, the Minister informed His Holiness that after
Lebanon he would be traveling to Syria and Egypt.
