The fact that Armenia poses the question on the Karabakhi status
in negotiations of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue settlement does not
mean that Armenia roughened its stances in this connection. On May
22, stated Serge Sargsyan at the join press conference with the
president of Croatia. Serge Sargsyan noted that the question on the
Karabakhi status has always had axis significance. Serge Sargsyan
stated that the next meeting with Ilham Aliyev will probably take
place in the beginning of June in St. Petersburg. He extended hope
that the Azerbaijani mass media will not mutate the meaning of these
negotiations and will not state that Armenia roughened its stances.

As to the Armenian and Turkish relations and the pessimistic statements
of the Armenian society in its connection, Serge Sargsyan said that he
will not join the optimistic or pessimistic opinions because both types
of the stances are formed in the state of misinformation. According to
him, the Armenian and Turkish relations are a difficult way and demand
great efforts. According to Serge Sargsyan, the normalization of the
Armenian and Turkish border is a good chance for Turkey to prove to
the world, including the Armenian nation, that it is a modern country
and is led by international principles.
