THE AZERBAIJANI PARTY STILL COMMITTING ARSONS ON THE CONTACT-LINE

Since early June 2009, fires have periodically occured in different
sections of the Nagorno Karabagh and Azerbaijani armed forces'
contact-line, their basic reasons being shots with tracer bullet from
the Azerbaijani side and arsons on the territory under the Azerbaijani
armed forces' control, as a result of which the fire spreads over to
the Karabagh side.
According to the information of the NKR Rescue Service, 24-hour watch
is established and field fire-rescue posts (with fire-fighting vehicles
and teams) are operating in the corresponding areas. The Rescue Service
employees are supported by the NKR Defense Army soldiers and civilians.
Corresponding measures for the fires' localization and suppression,
as well as preventive measures for their avoidance are used.
The NKR authorities call upon the Azerbaijani party to refrain from
any actions causing irretrievable damage to the environment and
threatening the population's health and security.
