The wildfires which started in the Angeles National Forest over a
week ago and which spanned the La Canada to Sunland areas threatened
thousand of homes prompting the evacuation of residents in those areas,
including many Armenian families, and resulted in casualties and injuries.

Thankfully, by Wednesday, September 2nd, the fire had shifted
direction and was not immediately threatening residences.
