ArmInfo. DigiTec Expo 2009 to be held in Armenia on October 2-4 will
involve nearly 50 companies and 11 visitors, Executive Officer of
the Union of Information Technologies Enterprises Karen Vardanyan
said at a press conference devoted to DigiTec exhibition.

He said negotiations are currently underway for participation
of Ericsson Vice-President and representatives of Pirelli and Sun
Microsystems in the exhibition. "In addition, USAID/CAPS project may
help with the pavilions of three foreign states. These are expected
to be Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey," Vardanyan said. The organizers
are going to organize a drawing for the participants. In addition,
he said, final stages of UITE ArmRobotics competitions are expected
within the frames of the exhibitions.

Digitec expo has been held since 2005. On October 3-5 Yerevan hosted
informational and telecommunication DigiTec 2008 international
expo. This 4th consecutive event was also held under the auspices
of the Prime Minister of Armenia. The organizers are UITE and EIF
(Enterprises Incubator Foundation). Each year the Expo is visited by
8000-10000 people. US "Nathan Associates" company's experts have shown
that DigiTec 2008 visitors were by 44% students, 19% were leaders from
other branches of economy, 17% were representatives of state agencies
and institutions and 20% were citizens interested in the field.

The same research showed that 86% of the visitors were interested in
know-how and products, 56% were interested in cell connection, 39%
    - internet, and 37% - telecommunication services.
