    FOUR PERMANENT COMMISSIONS OF CITY COUNCIL SET UP

    YEREVAN

    YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS: Regular session of the City Council
    of Yerevan took place today the agenda of which included formation of
    four permanent commissions. Chairperson of the financial-crediting,
    economic, trade and services, transport and road construction permanent
    commission was elected member of Armenian Republican Party's faction
    Naira Nahapetyan, chairperson of legal affairs commission member of
    Armenian Republican Party's faction Yenok Azaryan. Chairperson of
    education, culture, youth, health, social protection, sports permanent
    commission was elected head of Prosperous Armenia party's faction
    Arman Vardanyan.

    The deputy chairperson of the urban, land usage and nature protection
    affairs permanent commission was elected member of Armenian Republican
    Party's faction Hrach Poghosyan, deputy chairperson of the education,
    culture, youth, health, social protection and sports permanent
    commission was elected member of Armenian Republican Party's faction
    Anna Asatryan and deputy chairperson of legal affairs permanent
    commission was elected Poghos Plavchyan.

    The session did not elect chairperson of the urban, land usage and
    nature protection affairs permanent commission, and deputy head of
    the legal affairs commission.

    Head of the ARP's City Council faction Derenik Dumanyan said that
    according to the legislature in these posts candidates must have been
    nominated by Armenian National Congress and as far as it did not take
    place the posts remained vacant.

    "I do not think issues may arise, the commissions have members and
    I think they will work normally. It would be very good if ANC too
    participates in the works," Dumanyan said.
