NA SPEAKER ISSUES THE APPLICATIONS OF RESIGNATION OF MPS KH. SUKIASIAN AND R. HOVHANNISIAN

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS: During the first day of the autumn
session of the RA National Assembly which kicked off today the NA
Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan issued the applications of resignation of
the MPs Khachatour Sukiasian and Raffi Hovhannisian.
According to the "NA regulatory law" after issuing the application of
resignation during the NA session the MP can within 15 days withdraw
it, if the application is not withdrawn the resignation is considered
adopted.
Khachatour Sukiasian was in 2007 elected a member of parliament from
#10 electoral unit and R. Hovhannisian heads the proportional list
of "Heritage" party and was elected according to the proportional
electoral system.
According to the RA Electoral Code in case of the majority system
mandate becomes free within 80 day's period additional elections are
held in the corresponding constituency, and in case of the proportional
system the vacant place is occupied by the next candidate of the
party proportional list.
