Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan, while speaking to Russian state
television channel Vesti on Armenian foreign policy challenges, said
he is hopeful about the process of normalizing relations with
Turkey. `We agreed to the process without conditions, and we want to
pursue normalization,' Sarksyan said. Addressing concerns that Armenia
is slowly drifting away from Russia, Sarksyan emphasized that Russia
is content with Turkish-Armenian rapprochement, also pointing to
Russia's partnership with Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Eid al-Fitr, signaling the end of the holy month of Ramadan, is marked
by three days of vacation. This year's eid was preceded by a Saturday,
meaning the holiday was part of a four-day weekend.
