    European Day of Languages is marked in Armenia

    Since 2001, September 26 is European Day of Languages the general
    objectives of which are to preserve languages and to promote teaching
    of languages in the world.

    It's worth mentioning, that European institutes use formally and
    equally the following languages: English, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Greek,
    Danish, Irish, Spanish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, German,
    Netherlands, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Finnish,
    French, Czech, Swedish, Estonian.

    All official decisions made in the EU are translated into these
    languages and EU citizens may apply to the EU bodies in any of them.

    We also note that on today's European Day of Languages Yerevan State
    Linguistic University aft. Bryusov will hold an event to be attended
    by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Armenia's Minister of Education and
    Science Armen Ashotyan, Yerevan's mayor Gagik Beglaryan and other
    officials.
