SLOVAKIA WELCOMES ARMENIA'S INITIATIVE OF NORMALIZING RELATIONS WITH TURKEY

    YEREVAN

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 14, NOYAN TAPAN. On December 14, newly appointed
Ambassador of Slovakia to RA Joseph Migas (residence Moscow)
handed his credentials to RA President Serzh Sargsyan. S. Sargsyan
attached importance to regular contacts between the two countries and
activization of the political dialogue emphasizing that it creates
a favorable ground for further expansion of cooperation in economic
and other spheres. He expressed gratitude for adopting a resolution
condemning the Armenian Genocide by Slovakia's parliament in 2004.

Speaking about bilateral trade and economic contacts S. Sargsyan
and J. Migas held the same opinion that the two countries still have
much to do to develop them. In that respect they considered primary
expansion of the legal-contractual sphere. J. Migas said that Armenia
has always distinguished itself by its scientific potential, and they
are interested in expansion of partnership in this sphere.

According to RA President's Press Office, the sides also showed
interest by the Armenia-European Union format, in particular, by
using the Eastern Partnership program's possibilities to expand the
cooperation circles. They attached importance to facilitation of the
    procedure of entrance visa provision.

    J. Migas declared that Slovakia welcomes and supports Armenia's
initiative of normalizing the relations with Turkey. S. Sargsyan,
in his turn, appreciated Slovakia's balanced approach to region's
    delicate issues.
