Baku - APA. Center for Strategic Studies under Azerbaijani President
held a roundtable on the theme "Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh
conflict: outcomes of 2009 and future prospects" within the framework
of the project with The First News Information Agency, the center's
press service told APA. The participants touched on Nagorno Karabakh
conflict, steps taken for its solution in 2009, meetings of Azerbaijani
and Armenian presidents, activity of OSCE Minsk Group.

They consider that there is positive dynamics in the negotiations
within the framework of the Minsk Group and this dynamics gives hope
that some results will be achieved in 2010. It was also noted that 2009
is the year of intensive talks, though no concrete results have been
achieved, serious work is being done on some principles. Turkey's
joining the process of negotiations was regarded as a positive
    political moment.

South Caucasus region, the experts said serious geopolitical changes
happen in the world after the August events of 2008. Regarding the

table said there was no mutual trust between the two countries and
    these documents remained "dead".

The experts said Moscow Declaration and Madrid Principles could be
a launch pad for positive results in future and Azerbaijan wouldn't
leave its fair position. The participants criticized non-constructive
position of Armenia in the negotiation process over the Nagorno
    Karabakh conflict.

Azerbaijan-Russia, Russia-US relations, powerful countries' role in the
conflict solutions, energy projects, intensification of the people's
