YSU COUNCIL CONVENES THE LAST SITTING OF 2009

Today President Serzh Sargsyan chaired the sitting of the Council of
the Yerevan State University.
"This year was significant, since we celebrated the 90th anniversary
our University. I say 'our," because the Yerevan State University is
the pride of the whole nation. During the 90 years of its existence
it has given hundreds of thousands of graduates. The alumnae of the
University have always been the founders of new branches of science
both in the Republic of Armenia and the Soviet Socialist Republic of
Armenia" President Sargsyan said in his opening remarks.
Rector of the University Aram Simonyan presented a report in the YSU
activity in the academic year 2008-2009.
Members of the YSU Council approved of the strategic development
program for academic years 2010-2014.
At the end of the sitting the Rector of the Yerevan State University,
Aram Simonyan, proclaimed the decision of the Council to award YSU's
Order of Honor to President Serzh Sargsyan.
