ARMENIAN ARTISTS INCORPORATE LOCAL POLITICS INTO THEIR WORK

In the issue of selecting subjects for contemporary art work,
of course, there isn't a clear trend, said Susanna Gyulamiryan,
co-founder and president of the Art and Cultural Studies Laboratory,
    while speaking with Tert.am.

"The political situation has been quite stimulating in the last few
years; artists have begun to approach that issue. They, personally,
are the activists of that movement; they weren't indifferent to the
country's fate. It's good when right away artists grasp those real
and vitally important subjects," said the curator and art critic.

In this vein, organizers Narine Zolyan and Harutyun Zulumyan of the
project "Unlearned Lessons," who have an interest in post-Soviet
territories, have dedicated one of the program's pieces to the tragic
    events of March 1, 2008.
