    ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY SHOULD'VE ASKED PUBLIC NOT TO VISIT TURKEY LONG TIME AGO: BEKARYAN

    Armenia lost that period when it should've responded more harshly to
    Turkey's statements, said Europen Integration NGO Chair Karen Bekaryan
    at a press conference today.

    "The best time for a really tough response was when Erdogan said he
    could deport 100,000 Armenians [from Turkey]. There are cases when
    it becomes quite difficult to get back lost moments," he said.

    According to the NGO chair, RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs should've
    made corresponding statements a long time ago, calling on citizens
    to refrain from visiting Turkey, staying there or having any contact
    with Armenia's neighbouring country.

    Bekaryan noted that Turkey doesn't have the influence or the ability
    to protect its citizens' full rights and is obligated to warn its
    citizens of such.

    "There are issues in that country connected with our ethnic origin;
    even more so, that country has put forth a tender to become racist,"
    concluded Bekaryan.
