Turkey to send ambassador back to US

    ANKARA Turkey

Turkey's prime minister says the country's ambassador to Washington,
who was recalled a month ago in protest at a U.S. move to declare the
killing of Armenians by Ottoman Turks genocide, will return to his
    post.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Ambassador Namik Tan will go back to
Washington next week, before Erdogan attends a key nuclear security
    summit there.

Turkey's relations with the United States were strained after a
congressional panel approved a resolution on genocide. Erdogan on
Friday did not say whether the tensions had reduced but stressed the
importance of the April 12-13 summit.

Western nations are preparing to impose sanctions to curb Iran's
nuclear ambitions but Turkey says its neighbor has the right to
develop nuclear energy for peaceful use.
