    NATURE PROTECTION MINISTRY OF ARMENIA DRAWS CONCLUSIONS AFTER CORRUPTION SCANDAL

    ArmInfo. Nature Protection Ministry of Armenia has drawn conclusions
    after the corruption scandal.

    To recall, accusation of taking of bribe on an especially large
    scale was brought against Head of Nature Protection Inspection
    under Armenian Nature Protection Ministry Tigran Petrosyan and his
    deputy Arsen Petrosyan. The bribe at the rate of 5 mln drams was
    extorted from Chairman assistant of the Board of Akhtala Mining and
    Concentration Complex CJSC for permission to extend the terms of
    commissioning of water supply system at Nakhatak river. On December
    28, 2009, A. Petrosyan was detained in his office after bribetaking,
    with 1210000 drams available with him. He succeeded to hand over the
    remaining amount (3790000) to his Chief Tigran Grigoryan. Moreover,
    20 mln drams and $1 thsd were found out in the pocket of A. Petrosyan,
    and another 3.8 mln and $33 thsd - at T. Grigoryan.

    "We have drawn conclusions from this occurrence. Currently, the Nature
    Protection Inspection is under reformation", Armenian Minister of
    Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan said at today's press-conference.
