ANC JOINS COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FOR ARMENIAN GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION

LOS ANGELES, CA---Leaders from the Armenian National Committee of
America-Western Region (ANCA-WR) as well as local ANC leaders from across
Los Angeles joined the Los Angeles County Supervisors in commemorating the
95th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on Tuesday, April 20th. The
event, led by County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, was hosted in the Kenneth
    Hahn Hall of Administration.

"Being a human rights issue, it is everyone's responsibility to confront
genocide and we are proud that the County of Los Angeles continues to do its
part by commemorating the Armenian Genocide in a forthright manner," said
ANCA Los Angeles South Bay Chapter Chairman, Shant Baboujian.

During the morning event, the Los Angeles County Supervisors issued a
proclamation designating April 24, 2010 a "Day of Remembrance for the
    Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923."

Members of the Armenian Church community as well as other community
organizations also participated in the commemoration event along with the
    Armenian National Committee.

The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region is the largest and
most influential Armenian American grassroots advocacy organization in the
Western United States. Working in coordination with a network of offices,
chapters, and supporters throughout the Western United States and affiliated
organizations around the country, the ANCA-WR advances the concerns of the
Armenian American community on a broad range of issues.
