Overall, Armenian parliamentary forces welcome the initiative of NKR
Foreign Security and Policy Council (FSPC) to launch the process of
Nagorno-Karabakh international recognition by foreign parliaments.

According to the Board Chairman of Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan,
the initiative is even belated. "I think the process should have been
launched in Nagorno-Karabakh long ago, but before appealing to foreign
Parliaments, Stepanakert should solve this issue with Armenia. Unless
Armenia recognizes its independence, not a single country does so,"
    Martirosyan said.

The Head of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Galust Sahakyan
also backed FSPC's initiative, stressing the time has come for
Nagorno-Karabakh to raise the issue itself to the world community.

ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary faction Secretary Artyusha Shahbazyan
said Armenia should support NKR in all initiatives. According to him,
if Stepanakert considered expedient to come forward with the intuitive
today, Yerevan should assist it in every possible way.

Aram Safaryan, Secretary of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) stated
that on the whole the initiative is acceptable. Yet considered
unlikely that any parliament will recognize NKR independence, unless
gets go-ahead from OSCE Minsk Group, as the issue is resolved within
their format. "Unless OSCE MG Co-Chairs admit that Karabakh issue can
be settled based on recognition of NKR sovereignty internationally,
this will not happen," Safaryan noted. Therewith, he emphasized the
positive move of raising the issue in foreign parliaments, as it
will enable Stepanakert to draw international community's attention
to Karabakh conflict and aware the world of its details.
