Edward Nalbandyan meets with his Fin Counterpart
YEREVAN, MAY 11, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandyan met today with the foreign minister of Finland Alexander
Stub who is in Armenia on a working visit. Foreign ministry press
service told Armenpress that the minister welcomed the visit of the
delegation of Alexander Stub to Armenia, noting that it gives good
opportunity for discussion of the agenda issues and prospects for
cooperation. Edward Nalbandyan pointed out that Armenia highlights the
development of mutually beneficial partnership with Finland and
Scandinavian region and with that purpose the establishment of
Armenian embassy in the mentioned region is intended.
`We see Finland as a reliable partner and wish to boost our political
dialogue by regular consultations and active cooperation in the
international organizations,' the Armenian minister said.
Alexander Stub noted that he is happy to visit Armenia and continue
the dialogue launched two years ago over development of partnership in
different spheres.
Minister Nalbandyan and Stub registered the mutual interest to develop
comprehensive cooperation, pointing out that necessary political will
and good prerequisites are necessary.
The ministers exchanged thoughts over the further boosting of the
Armenian-Fin friendly relations.
The foreign ministers of the two countries referred also to the
cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
During the conversation the interlocutors discussed in details issues
on Armenian-Turkish relations, exchanged thoughts over a number of
international and regional issues, including the recent developments
over the Karabakh conflict.
