Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in a research
seminar on Water Policy aiming to submit interim results of initiatives
undertaken by the government to reform the water industry.

The seminar brought together representatives of state and private
sectors, as well as specialists of international donor-organizations,
    the governmental press service.

By the government's request, World Bank specialists have developed
a document on Water Policy, which provides an analysis of the
situation, as well as describes the country's experience gained
    through government-private sector cooperation.

PM Sargsyan noted that capital investments have not been made in the
field of drinking water since 1960-70ies. "Meanwhile, investments
at the amount of $1.7bln are needed, according to specialists'
    estimations," he said.

The Prime Minister added that the government has addressed the issue
during the past several years. "Investments made by the government
should be continued to modernize the existing infrastructures in
    Armenia," he said.
